Our Objectives
Gallery Sales What's in a name. In our case, the word "Group" refers to our efforts to assemble auctioneers throughout the region who are willing to work sales cooperatively resulting in enhanced promotional opportunities, more professional staffing of events and a broader range of specialties available to our clients. As an area referral source, The Renaissance Auction Group provides the convenience of unified services for all your auction needs. If we feel that our expertise is not suited to your event or if our schedule cannot accommodate your situation, we will contact a member of our group. If that fails to resolve your search, we will reach outside of our immediate circle to help you find a qualified auctioneer that satisfies your sale's demands. Our associates believe, as we do, that working together we can accomplish more. That allows our clients to benefit from the exponential power of cooperation.
On-site Sales We offer on-site sale services. Our areas of specialty include estates with significant antique, fine art and collectible holdings, unique and historic real estate, select business liquidations and farm sales.
Estate Tag Sales We firmly believe in the auction marketing method. In a few circumstances clients may prefer an estate tag sale. We will provide this service on a limited basis when our expertise in antiques, fine art and collectibles and our professional appraising credentials will, in our opinion, offer enhanced return to the client.
Consignors Our goal is to employ our experience in acquiring, assessing and promoting quality consignments to create an auction marketplace that offers our consignors an opportunity for increased benefit. We will not allow our auction schedule to expand to the point that we cannot offer each client the full measure of our abilities as professional auction organizers and professional auctioneers. Our rates will be competitive.
Buyers A good auction is well organized, convenient, informative, entertaining and offers interesting merchandise accurately represented. That is our belief and we will strive to see that our sales reflect that conviction.
Buyer's Premium In certain instances a buyer's premium is appropriate. We first began advocating for its use in regional and local sales over twenty years ago. Today, in many cases, the application of this charge has become routine. In our opinion, when merchandise of exceptional quality is offered in an auction setting a buyer's premium is appropriate. When unusual expense has been incurred in the promotion of a sale, a buyer's premium may be appropriate. If we apply a buyer's premium we will do so in accordance with our understanding of its purpose.
Buyer's Discount On certain occasions and with certain types of transactions we may offer a buyer's discount.
Service No matter how successful a company becomes, the auction trade presents the quintessential opportunity to offer the personalized service one expects to find in the small business arena. In this era of wholesale marketing and big box stores, consumers appreciate an enterprise facile enough to accommodate their individual needs. We understand the role that service plays in the decisions that customers make. Good service is still the simplest, cheapest and most effective tool for promoting a business.
Advertising Our area of Southeast Pennsylvania possesses some distinct marketing advantages. Its proximity to the large urban markets, the abundant outdoor opportunities, the many historical sites, the allure of the Amish and Mennonite cultures and the numerous, nationally recognized antique, fine art and collectibles venues such as the three Renninger's, Shupp's Grove, the Adamstown markets and Perkiomenville, just to cite a few. With all of these assests, we should be able to promote our area as a day, weekend or holiday trip destination second to none. Our sales will be advertised in trade publications with supra-regional and national circulations. We intend to emphasize the many activities that attendees can enjoy before and after their stop at our events. There may well be more Antique Captials of the World than there are Elvis sightings, but none can stake a better claim to that distinction than our area. Many years ago, my father told me that Pennsylvania was the place to go to buy antiques and collectibles. When we arrived here in 2000, I was surprised to learn that, four decades later, his insight still prevailed. We intend to promote this area as a benefit to our business and hope that those efforts will benefit our neighbors as well.
